Violence Against Women – Prevent, Not Just Protest

SereneSoul,Light House and Dishari Unnoyon Sangstha organizes Rickshaw rally to mark International Women’s day
To promote gender equality and raise collective voices against gender-based violence and harassment in workplaces around the world, We organized a colorful rickshaw rally on 27 March, 2023 Monday.  . The rally, held to celebrate International Women’s Day, started at 10am from the Sathmatha Bogura and stopped for a while in front of Biman Mor.  Following a brief discussion session, the rally then returned and ended from where it started. 
The participants carried posters, banners and placards with messages on gender equality, women’s rights, workplace safety, violence against women and issues like that.
On the occasion of observing the International Women’s Day, Zia Choudhury, Country Director of Women safety  Organation. On this International Women’s Day, we want to promote a message of workplace safety for all women. I am happy that this message resonates with the Bangladesh Government’s promise of “Think equal, build smart, and innovate for change”.
International Women’s day is observed worldwide to respect and recognize women’s success and achievements. Moreover, this day is a reminder to bolster movements to establish women’s economic, political and social rights towards gender equality.
International development organization  has been working for decades to establish women’s right. WE along with many other countries, are working on a global campaign known as #March4Women. The main objective of the campaign is to stop gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work.
